CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM ANNOUNCES COMMUNITY GRANTING FUND WITH PORT COQUITLAM COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

The City of Port Coquitlam approved transfer of annual funding from the Recreation Community Cultural Development and Community Capital Project Matching Grants budget to the Port Coquitlam Community Foundation (PoCo Foundation) for promotion, review and distribution to qualifying grant applicants.

The Community Cultural Development Investment Program continues to support arts, culture and heritage projects and initiatives. This includes support for individual artists and cultural groups and organizations. The Community Capital Project Matching Grant supports community groups and organizations with capital projects that provide benefit to the community. Deadlines for both grant programs are May 31, 2022.

Neighbourhood initiatives, which provides support to communities through the Little Free Library and Block Party programs, continues to be administered by the City’s Recreation department, and the Youth Firefighter Mentorship Grant which enables young women 16 to 18 years of age to attend Camp Ignite, will continue to be administered by the City’s Fire services department. The PoCo Foundation was launched in 2012 as a registered charity with a sole purpose, to make our community a better place to live through its granting and endowment activities. The Foundation’s annual grants program provides funding to numerous local organizations and individuals whose programs or projects have the greatest benefit to the Port Coquitlam community.
