
Sarah Thompson is an emergency management professional based in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, with over 15 years of experience across government, non-profit, and community sectors. She holds a Master’s degree in Disaster and Emergency Management from York University and is recognized for her collaborative, community-focused approach to building resilience.
She has led complex emergency management initiatives with municipal governments, educational institutions, and community organizations. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sarah provided strategic leadership with the Canadian Red Cross in Ontario, overseeing planning and response efforts and advancing innovative solutions. She later served as a Senior Change Manager, supporting organizational adaptation and service transformation.
A Port Coquitlam resident, Sarah is actively engaged in her community as a youth soccer referee and a Naval Reservist with HMCS Discovery. Her commitment to service and local impact guides her role as incoming Board Chair of the Port Coquitlam Foundation.
