I’m a graduate of Woolwich Polytechnic with a degree in Telecommunications. Emigrated to Canada in 1965, qualified as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) and worked in the Telecommunications Industry (Standard Telephones and Cables (UK), Lenkurt Electric Co. of Canada, Ltd., B.C. Telephone Co.) until retirement in 1995.
My community contributions include serving as a City Councillor in Port Coquitlam for 33 years as well as spending time on the Metro Vancouver Board of Directors. I served as chair of the Fraser Valley Regional Library board of Trustees and was President of the local Arts Council. I also served as a Board Member of the VanTel/Safeway Credit Union (VTSCU) Board of Directors from 1994 – 2003 and subsequently as a Director of the VTSCU Legacy Fund. My additional volunteer work includes Income Tax Preparation for seniors and helping with various Arts groups.
I’m happily married with two adult children and one grand-daughter. Hobbies include Photography and Golf as well as Cruising.
